TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY

THEY SHOULD GROW

We believe that when you give a child a fish, he will eat for a day.

We prefer to teach him how to fish, so he will eat for a lifetime.

TEACH THEM YOUNG

At the very center of a society’s existence is the production and consumption of nutrition (food).

As the trend of food barren communities continue to be a pressing problem, there is nothing more important than having access to nutritious food. This is at the heart of Dunbar Agriculture and Learning Center.

We believe that when you give a child a fish, he will eat for a day.We prefer to teach him how to fish, so he will eat for a lifetime. We are developing a community of young farmers who will feed their communities for generations to come.

All phases are taught hands-on while practicing social distancing. We also cultivate additional acreage to incorporate local products into the school programs and summer programs. Learn more about us in Woodville, Mississippi or its surrounding areas.

ABOUT OUR AGRICULTURE

We are a bridge that connects the community in Woodville, Mississippi and its surrounding areas. Parents and community leaders join students at DALC to grow and harvest their own food. DALC offers students safe and fun hands-on learning. With over 10 acres of farmland, students experience the core elements of farming; from soil prepping to planting seeds, nurturing plants, harvesting, and decomposing. These hands-on processes incorporate lesson plans that closely adhere to CDC safety, personal hygiene, and social distancing guidelines. We offer Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Summer Programs.
